Travel support

Travel support for Arthritis UK award holders

Please note that from 10 June 2026, travel support has moved to an online form-based submission; this replaces the previous process requiring submission through Grant Tracker.

Submission of travel support requests is no longer required in advance of the event, instead please adhere to all the required criteria as below to ensure your request is valid and can be approved.

Travel support enables award holders, or other research staff employed on Arthritis UK funded awards, to attend prestigious or relevant national or international scientific meetings to present Arthritis UK supported work.

The amount allotted for travel is a pro rata sum per year of £1000 for awards made from January 2026 onwards, or £750 for earlier awards. Funding applies to all eligible categories of awards*, **

For all awards, the allotted travel support sum can be used flexibly to permit the use of a larger portion of the total travel support funds at any point during the lifetime of the award. Applications will be accepted for meetings held up to 24 months after the end date of an award.

*Programme grants awarded prior to 31 December 2016 retain the budget limits detailed in their special conditions of award.

**Centre Awards have no provision for additional travel support funding, as per their conditions of award.
