Volunteering
Why volunteer with us?
Each year our volunteers help us to deliver support services to people living with arthritis. Volunteering with us is not just about giving back; it’s an amazing opportunity for personal growth and connection. Here’s how you can make a meaningful impact:
- Give something back to the community and make a difference to the lives of people who need support
- Do something amazing for yourself including developing new skills and meeting others
Your contribution is essential in our fight against arthritis, ensuring that everyone has access to the best information, advice, and support whenever they need it.
Who can volunteer?
We are delighted to extend a warm welcome to volunteers from all nations of the United Kingdom. We value diversity and encourage volunteers of all ages and from all sections of the community.
When looking at the vacancies, be sure to read the role description carefully as it lists any specific requirements needed.
Then there are 4 simple steps:
- Complete an application form
- To help us get to know each other a little better we’ll invite you along for an informal chat. We will ask you to bring along some photographic ID to that meeting.
- Before you start to volunteer - and depending on the role you are applying for – you may be asked to take a criminal record check. This will be made clear in the role description.
- All volunteers will be provided with a training booklet, asked to sign our volunteer agreement and attend our safeguarding session before starting in role.

Navigating Arthritis Volunteer
Navigating Arthritis Volunteer is an exciting new role to help more of the 10 million people with arthritis to access information, support and resources to help them better manage their condition. We are currently piloting the role in 4 areas of London: Southwark, Tower Hamlets, Lewisham and Greenwich. We’ll be rolling out to more areas soon.
