While waiting for treatment
The pandemic has meant that many operations and procedures have been postponed. Some people are waiting to see a GP and many people are waiting longer for surgery and other treatments.
This can be an anxious time and you probably have questions and concerns. We are here for you, while you're waiting.
Information and advice
There are things you can do to help manage your physical and mental wellbeing while you’re waiting. Even small changes can make a big difference.

Waiting for treatment if you're in work
It can be hard to know what practical measures or changes will help you remain at work and support your health and wellbeing while you wait for treatment or surgery.
The NHS across the nations have information to help patients who are on the waiting list, check out your local NHS site.
Your employer should consider any temporary or permanent adjustments or equipment you need while waiting for treatment or surgery. Access to Work may also help with additional equipment or support during this time.
Your employer should work with you to review your needs during the period you are waiting for treatment as well as when you return to work.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it
If you’d like to talk to someone, have concerns or want to hear from others with arthritis, our online community, Facebook and Twitter communities are available 24/7 making sure you’re never alone.

Where to find extra support
- Your local pharmacist can also be a good source of support. They can help to advise you about your medications.
- Speak to your GP or practice nurse at your surgery if you feel your condition is getting worse. You can call 111 or 999 in an emergency.
