Course information

This two-hour online course supports health and care professionals in primary care to develop greater confidence in the differential diagnosis of fibromyalgia syndrome and inflammatory arthritis, helping clinicians navigate uncertainty and make safer, more informed decisions.

Differentiating between these conditions can be challenging due to overlapping symptoms, chronic pain presentations, and the complexity of real-world cases. This course provides clear, practical strategies for distinguishing key features, using investigations effectively, communicating diagnoses, and supporting self-management.

By improving clinicians’ understanding of when referral to rheumatology is appropriate, the course promotes timely access to specialist care and improved patient outcomes.

This live online course is delivered as a single two-hour webinar combining interactive teaching with opportunities for discussion, patient communication practice, and case-based learning.

Learners will receive the course slides, resource handouts, two CPD points, and access to a recording for 60 days for flexible, on-demand review.
