Arthritis UK is part of the PIF TICK accreditation scheme, run by the Patient Information Forum (PIF), a UK charity with more than 300 members. The PIF TICK is the UK’s only quality mark for print and online health and care information. When you see the PIF TICK, you can be sure that the health and care information is produced to the best possible standard.

And as a Trusted Information Creator, Arthritis UK is committed to producing trusted health information to meet the Patient Information Forum's quality standards — health information that is evidence-based, up-to-date, easy to use and easy to understand.

What is the Patient Information Forum?

The Patient Information Forum (PIF) is a charitable organisation for people working in health information that represents more than 300 members. Members include NHS Trusts, charities, private companies, freelance writers and academics. In 2020, PIF set up the PIF TICK scheme to help people find reliable health information. Why was the PIF TICK created?

The PIF TICK was started to help you easily recognise trusted health information. Consumer research found 8 in 10 people would look for a quality mark for health information. Ipsos research found 2 in 3 UK adults say independent verification of health information would increase trust.

Who can join the PIF TICK?

The PIF TICK is open to NHS, charity, voluntary, private sector organisations and individual health content creators creating and publishing health information.
