Alternative bone cement suppliers have been found to minimise disruption to NHS joint replacement surgery.

“Very positive news today from NHS England and NHS Wales that alternative bone cement suppliers have been found to minimise disruption to joint replacement surgery. Full credit to the NHS teams that have worked rapidly to find replacements after production halted at a primary supplier unexpectedly, leading to fears last week that operations would be cancelled for up to two months. We hope those who have already had operations cancelled will be contacted swiftly to alleviate worry and offered new dates quickly. Anyone impacted by the delays can contact our free helpline and online community, where they can access information and advice.”
